Tofino River Drift
Experience the west coast like very few will. This guided day trip takes you to a stunning and remote river system with a personal guide and naturalist. Board a chartered floatplane in the Tofino harbour and fly to a remote mountain lake. Once landed we will inflate our stable river kayaks and begin the meandering descent to the ocean. Along the way stop to walk in the old growth forest where trees often exceed 10 feet in diameter and life goes on uninterrupted as it has for thousands of years. The fall months offer river runners candid views of spawning salmon and the animals they attract. Trout fishing options are available upon request. Season Feb. – Nov. No prior kayaking experience is required, however it is recommended that participants are comfortable on the water and possess a moderate level of fitness and mobility as the day includes paddling and some walking on uneven river bank terrain. We offer a rafting option for those with lower mobility, river conditions permitting.
Remote lake excursions are ideal if you yearn for a taste of wilderness adventure without the excursion of a river trip. The lake is available as a half or full day trip and is suited to a range of physical abilities. Please call of email for lake trip pricing.
Lunch included on full day trips.
