Lochie MacKenzie - head guide/ owner

A high hours charter guide in Tofino, British Columbia for the last 16 years averaging over 1000 charter fishing hours per season, Lochie has the ability to consistently produce fish while maintaining a high regard for his client’s comfort and level of expertise. A strong whitewater background has enabled Lochie to drift remote rivers and access some of the best freshwater fly-fishing British Columbia has to offer. Lochie looks forward to welcoming guests aboard his vessel the “Red Sky” and facilitating a memorable fishing experience. Tofino Fish Guides Ltd. is owned and operated by Lochie and his partner Mieka. Professional Qualifications include: Certified Tidal Angling Guide, Marine First Aid, Marine Emergency Duties A3, Restricted Radio operator's Certificate, Small Vessel Operator Proficiency , Bridge watch rating, and B.Sc. from the University of Victoria.

Dave Tom - guest guide on the 'Red Sky'

Dave is a high hours charter guide and Tofino local with a knack for producing fish in Clayoquot Sound and the Offshore waters. We are fortunate to have someone as experienced and knowledgeable about the Tofino area on the 'Red Sky from time to time. Professional Qualifications include: Marine First Aid, Marine Emergency Duties A3, Restricted Radio operator's Certificate, Small Vessel Operator Proficiency.

Dan Harrison - freshwater/ kayak, inshore fly-fish/ salmon guide, naturalist

A keen fisherman, experienced river runner and an educator, Dan is always ready to share his knowledge of the west coast ecosystems whether marine or old growth forest. When not guiding, Dan is the Executive Director of the Raincoast Education Society in Tofino. Professional Qualifications include: Marine First Aid, Marine Emergency Duties A3, Restricted Radio operator's Certificate, Small Vessel Operator Proficiency and M.Sc. in Forest Ecology from the University of Victoria.


Contract guides - additional vessels

Tofino Fish Guides works with independent local guides when additional boats are required. The guides that we book are owner/ operators who are fully ticketed and insured. They possess multiple years of experience guiding sportfishing charters in the Tofino area.
